What Direct Maids Hire does

Direct Maids Hire is a Singapore employment agency that specialises in Myanmar domestic helpers. We work with households rather than running a public marketplace: an employer tells us about their home, and we shortlist candidates whose experience and circumstances suit that household.

From there our team explains the hiring steps and costs, arranges interviews, and supports the paperwork and arrival process through to handover. The agency is licensed by Singapore's Ministry of Manpower, and employers can verify the licence in MOM's Employment Agencies and Personnel Search directory.

How the process runs

The process usually moves through six steps. First, a household assessment covering housing type, who lives at home, children's ages, elderly support needs, cooking expectations and the preferred start date. Second, a private shortlist of suitable Myanmar candidates for your review. Third, video interviews, which we encourage for every shortlisted candidate. Fourth, selection and the required application work, including the Work Permit application. Fifth, arrival processing such as the medical examination, applicable programmes and insurance arrangements. Sixth, handover and after-placement support while the household and helper adjust to one another.

What we do not do

We do not publish helper biodatas publicly, promise a specific match, guarantee candidate availability, or invent reviews and rankings. Suitability depends on the individual candidate and the individual household, which is why interviewing matters. If part of what a household needs sits outside what a domestic helper role can reasonably cover, such as complex nursing care, we say so before a placement begins.

Where to read more

Our employer guides library covers interviews, childcare, elderly support, levy, rest days, transfer helpers and hiring costs, with links to the official MOM pages for current figures. Our Myanmar helper FAQs page answers the questions employers ask us most, and our communication guide sets out what to expect when working with a helper at home. The interview checklist is free to print and use in your own interview.
